The Canadian answer to the Bloody Mary, this vodka cocktail originally hails from the Calgary Inn, where it may be the only cocktail recipe inspired by a pasta dish.

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
  • 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • Kosher salt
  • Coarsely ground black pepper
  • 3 oz Tomato juice
  • 2 oz Clam juice
  • Garnish: Carrot, sliced lengthwise
  1. Add all of the ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, and roll the contents between mixing glass and a shaker tin until well-blended.

  2. Rim the lip of a double Old Fashioned glass with lime, and dip it into a mixture of the pepper and salt.

  3. Strain into a prepared ice-filled double Old Fashioned glass, and garnish with a carrot sliced lengthwise.
